WrestleMania 35 Predictions

Hey Everyone,

Okay so here we are, WrestleMania 35 the biggest wrestling event of the year, the thing all wrestlers dream of being a part of.  Sixteen announced matches with a possible seventeenth being added.  So full disclosure I know this is going to be very long so I'm going to try to make it as short and smooth as possible talking about every match, hopefully not too long. So here we go.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship
(C) Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese

I will admit, I lost interest watching 205 Live the talent on there is good but there's no real showcase of their talent until they have a big pay-per-view title match.  Buddy Murphy is very good, is in his element in the division but part of me would enjoy to see him part of the mid-card in WWE but it's concerning if he'd even get used to his ability at the level.  Same can be said about his opponent Tony Nese great talent, in all aspects, he just hasn't gotten his shot in WWE, this is it.  Nese should win here get a lengthy run with the title, get a real chance to showcase his abilities to a bigger audience.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Now this match, every single year means nothing, it hasn't resulted in anything beneficial to the winner at all (just ask Mojo Rawley) so for me to be excited about it really is pointless.  The only storyline going on in that match is Braun Strowman not liking two guys from Saturday Night Live, Michael Che and Colin Jost.  Jost has been playing the heel who doesn't really know anything about wrestling and it's annoying in the sense that I wish it wasn't happening.  Part of me thinks they did this to get Scarlett Johansson to appear since she is dating Colin Jost.  Braun really the only person that could win, I could see some kind of screwy thing where Che and Jost somehow cost Braun the win leading to Braun chasing them all around the arena throughout the show, but I'm picking Braun.

WWE Women's Battle Royal

This match has no story connected to it at all it's all the women with no match on the main card, there really isn't a lot to say here I think it's very possible Asuka wins, but they could also give it to Lacey Evans who is doing nothing except walk to the ring wave and walk back, so I really don't know, I wanted this match to have some kind of meaning before Asuka lost the Smackdown Women's Championship, I was hoping for her to defend it in this match and eliminate everyone because it wouldn't hurt anyone to lose a battle royal, but there really isn't anyone else I could see winning it. So Asuka or Lacey for the win.

Raw Tag Team Championship
(C) The Revival vs. Hawkins and Ryder

This match put together pretty much last minute to get the Raw Tag Champs on the card, could actually be a very good match, you have 4 constant professionals in this one, Dash and Dawson are the best tag team on Raw right now by a mile, Ryder and Hawkins look to prove themselves as a team again.  Hawkins enters with a really long losing streak which I could definitely see come to end here.  So I'm gonna pick Hawkins and Ryder here.

Falls Count Anywhere Match
Shane McMahon vs. The Miz

I'm not happy about this match, at all.  I'm not a fan of The Miz, his character as a heel is annoying, his character as a face isn't believable at all, especially a fight the odds face.  As for Shane, he doesn't need to wrestle anymore, I'm over him as a wrestler.  This storyline has been horrible and I can't be convinced otherwise.  It's not believable that it took this long after everything Miz has done that his dad is now proud of him and wasn't before.  It's not believable that they bonded as a tag team because they both seek approval from their dads.  It's even less believable that Shane would care about that at this point in his life, same goes for Miz.  This match will probably be too long and Miz will probably win.

Tag Team Fatal Four Way
Smackdown Tag Team Championship
(C) The Usos vs. Ricochet and Aleister Black vs. The Bar vs. Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura

This match, also put together last minute is a good way to showcase the tag teams on Smackdown currently and in my opinion should be the ladder match of the weekend.  All these teams have something to prove.  The Usos want to solidify there best tag team in WWE status, Ricochet and Black want to prove they can't be taken lightly as a team, The Bar want to prove they are not an after thought in this division, and Rusev and Nakamura want to prove there cohesiveness as a team.  I'm going with the surprise here, you need to really keep Ricochet and Black strong, this could be a quick match as far as multi-man matches go, and Ricochet and Black could prove there worth as a team with a win here, while they remain in that division for the time being.

Tag Team Fatal Four Way
WWE Women's Tag Team Championship
(C) Boss N' Hug Connection vs. Nia Jax and Tamina vs. The IIconics vs. The Divas of Doom

This match might be a giant cluster.  Nia and Tamina are subpar in general let alone as a team, The IIconics don't seem to have any chemistry with anyone but each other. The other two teams are going to be carrying this match and I have a feeling it might be hard for them to strike gold here, with the other two teams in there.  I could be completely wrong, I hope I am.  I expect Sasha and Bayley to retain here.

                         Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin

Ever since this match was announced everyone was very disappointed because this is supposed to be Kurt Angle's retirement match, Corbin isn't the opponent we wanted.  For that reason alone, I believe WWE is smart enough to know this can't be Kurt's last match.  So I think it will happen but I think it's going to be very quick, like immediate angle slam into an ankle lock and a win for angle.  Then Kurt will have his real last match, against who, I hope it's John Cena.  If it is John Cena, then Kurt will lose and ride off into the sunset.  It would be a full circle situation for sure and a feel good moment.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
(C) Bobby Lashley vs. "The Demon King" Finn Balor

There's really not much to talk about here, this feud has been agony for me as a Finn Balor fan.  This match didn't need to happen, could have found another reason to use the demon here.  I say this a lot and I mean it here again, I never want see Balor face Lashley ever again.  It's simple here, the demon will destroy Lashley probably in less than 5 minutes, and my hope is he goes to Smackdown after the next shake up and get's utilized the way he deserves.

WWE United States Championship
(C) Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio (maybe)

This match has a chance of not happening because Rey Mysterio hurt his ankle on the go-home Raw before mania, if it happens, good on Rey for working through the injury if it doesn't, I'd love to see Joe face Kevin Owens here.  If Rey can go it could still be a great match, despite the injury.  Both men are constant professionals, Rey has a good match with anyone (except Baron Corbin).  If Rey can go Joe will retain.  If not and it does end up being Kevin Owens (which is a guess and not even a rumor, that's just my choice) Owens could win.

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles

This match is one I've been waiting to see since AJ came to WWE.  I love the story they've been telling about Orton being home grown into this business, and AJ working for this in the Indies, and the back and forth of which path was better.  Every match AJ is in has the potential to steal the show and this could be no different.  I personally expect AJ to win here.  We've seen in the past when a homegrown talent or a WWE guy, goes up against someone that wasn't made by Vince McMahon, that the WWE guy always wins and I think it will be different here.  Orton doesn't need the win.  AJ needs a bounce back win here.  So I'm picking AJ.

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

I'm a huge fan of both of these guys, I'm not a huge fan of the storyline that lead to this match, for numerous reasons.  I hate they used Roman's leukemia battle as a storyline.  I hate that since they been doing that as the storyline that Drew has been the only one whose come out on top of all their encounters.  They booked this as Roman is still healing (when he's fine now, and we're all very happy is) and that he can't fight back.  It's sadly obvious for all of those reasons that Roman will win.  Now the reason I dislike this entire storyline is because you can't book Drew to win with this as the story being told.  Roman is back and we're very happy but he's already established, we got the feel good moment with the shield swan song at Fast Lane we didn't need another one with his story.  So Roman will win, and hopefully it won't hurt Drew too bad, who needs to move up and onward to his next stage as a main event talent.

No Holds Barred
Triple H's Career on the Line
Triple H vs. Batista

The planted the seeds for this at the Smackdown 1000 reunion of Evolution, and it might be best short term booking WWE has ever done.  Simple, straight to the point, personal booking.  Batista wants to face Triple H one last time and go out on his terms, baiting Triple H to put his career on the line to give him what he wants, and not even needing words to tell us he has Triple H's number.  Now it is very obvious that this booking is leading to Triple H finally getting a win on Batista, especially with Triple H going in as the face which he has done at a mania since facing Brock (which he also won).  So it's been said for a while that Batista wanted this to be his final match ever, but part of me thinks he will wrestle again in a match people want to see, what that is I don't know but we'll see.  I expect this to be a good match, these guys always work well together.

WWE Championship
(C) Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston

This story has been unbelievable what's even better about it, is it wasn't supposed to happen.  Kofi isn't supposed to be here.  He's here because of an injury to Ali in Elimination Chamber, he wouldn't be here if that didn't happen.  It's an amazing story, all of this fell into place organically.  Kofi has fought to be here.  Daniel Bryan has been an amazing heel, and loves doing these things for people who deserve them.  He knows Kofi should have been here long ago, he wants to do this for Kofi.  The emotion that has come out of this storyline is great and there's only one result that can happen, Kofi wins.  This is very similar to be Bryan in 2014 fighting to be champion.  Kofi has to win here, and I hope there isn't a New Day turn on Kofi because that wouldn't feel right at all.  Breaking up New Day is just the thing Vince would do and it can't happen.  I expect this to be one of the matches of the night.

WWE Universal Championship
(C) Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins

So for years, I've been sick of the the sight of Brock Lesnar, which as we all know doesn't happen very often, and there lies the problem.  Brock Lesnar is a money guy, he doesn't care about this like we as hardcore fans or Seth Rollins does.  Vince continues to give Brock everything, and he just doesn't show up or care to show up.  So to say I want Seth to win would be an understatement.  Unfortunately I don't think it's gonna happen, it appears that Brock is going to retain, and keep the title even longer and torture us a little bit long.  Hopefully sometime after mania he will lose the title and never ever be champion again, and we can have a champion to be proud of, a champion that wants to fight for the fans, and defend the thrown every pay-per-view.

Winner Take All
Raw and Smackdown Women's Championships
Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch

This is the match that everyone has been waiting for.  For the past year we all knew it would be Ronda versus Charlotte, Becky was going to be a cog in the gears at Survivor Series a one off with no real purpose except to put Ronda over.  Then something happened, a brawl on Raw two weeks before Survivor Series, resulted in an injury to Becky and she couldn't go at Survivor Series.  Despite all that and our hatred for the culprit, Nia Jax, it was the best thing that ever happened to Becky's career.  The intrigue of her and Ronda going one on one grew even stronger, their constant back and forth on Social Media built this better then anything Vince McMahon could think of, then Charlotte re-entered the fold at first to be the heel, now to be added incentive to put Becky over the edge as the top star she's always been meant to be.  Gone are the days of her accent holding her back, gone are the days of her always being turned on by her friends and being left on the back burner.  All of this is her coming out party and there is nobody else who should win.  The emotion that has been put in by all three women and the realism of the brawls and encounters each week has been what WrestleMania is all about.  Nobody else but Becky should win here, and if she doesn't, Vince McMahon is just delaying the inevitable.  Becky must win, even if Ronda agrees to stay.  If Ronda wins the likely result is she will pin or submit Charlotte and Becky will take her rightful place at the next pay-per-view.  Here's hoping Becky does it on the bigger stage.  It's gonna be one hell of a match.

Okay so that's everything, when I say it was tiring to write this, let me say it took me two days to write it, no joke.  It will be a show of ups and downs just like every WrestleMania is.  Us wrestling fans will eat it all up and enjoy every minute.  Okay so I'm done there's nothing more to say enjoy WrestleMania, or at least try to cause it's gonna be a real long one.  I'm MikeJC signing off.
