5 Matches That Shouldn't Be Happening at This Years WrestleMania

So this week is WrestleMania, this is going to be the biggest week in the wrestling world as it always is and some of the biggest matches take place at the show.  This will be the second year that it is two nights long, and at time of writing there is six matches on each night.  Not only that, they announced on Smakdown the day before night one of WrestleMania will host the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match and the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.  Which I hate, taking away the Mania moment from these people who deserve it just bothers me a lot.  So I'm gonna go through five matches in no particular order that I believe shouldn't be taking place and discuss a match that would probably be a better choice.

5. Tag Team Turmoil Number 1 Contender Match: Lana & Naomi vs. Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke vs. Riott Squad vs. Natalya & Tamina vs. Carmella & Billie Kay

Okay so multiple things are wrong here, first off why is Carmella teaming with Billie Kay?  Why isn't Carmella teaming with Bayley, I'd like to believe the reason something bigger is in store for Bayley at Mania.  That's what I'd like to believe but if that's the case I'm sorry but Billie Kay shouldn't team with anyone other then Peyton.  Second thing, they announced a fatal four way for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship, which is taking place on Smackdown and not on WrestleMania.  I think that its wrong not to have every championship on the main show.  You can still have this tag team turmoil match but put that on Smackdown instead and put the Smackdown Tag Title match on Mania.  There's no reason for this match to be on night one and the women's tag title match on night two.  To that point they also put the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Smackdown which makes me feel bad for everyone in that match not getting to perform in front of a real crowd.

4. United States Championship: Riddle (c) vs. Sheamus

Sheamus has lost a lot, he has four wins total since the New Year, and got this title shot because he beat the champion in a random match where he attacked the champion for no reason.  This is a trope that WWE does way too much and I wish it would stop.  They need to stop beating their champions, they need to stop making lazy championship matches at pay-per-views, especially at WrestleMania.  This could have been a multi-man ladder match that the people who are in it earned their way in and not beaten the champion, ya know make the champion matter instead of beating him against someone who didn't deserve a title shot.  There's a long list of wrestlers not on this show, you immediately make them credible challengers for Riddle's title as soon as they win a number one contender spot by earning it.  Imagine a Ladder Match between Riddle defending against Mustafa Ali, Sheamus (who could have earned it without beating Riddle), Jeff Hardy, Ricochet, and Drew Gulak.  That's a match worth seeing especially when they earn their way in, it immediately becomes important, and nobody looks bad going into it.

3. Intercontinental Championship: Big E (c) vs. Apollo Crews

I hate people getting rematches after losing championship matches clean.  Big E has beaten Apollo in championship matches six times.  Apollo did nothing to deserve the last three opportunities let alone this one.  They just had a match at Fastlane three weeks ago which Apollo lost clean, that means back of the line.  It meant that when he lost the second time to Big E.  This is super lazy and shouldn't be on the card at all.  I had an idea for Big E that would be bigger and better for him.  It was right there, now barring travel restrictions if any and schedule, my idea was have Big E face John Cena at WrestleMania.  You could have had Cena come to one show and record stuff for weeks ahead of time with no live crowds you can get away with that until Mania.  John Cena comes out challenges Big E to a match because out of everything in his career the one thing he's never done is even have an Intercontinental Championship match let alone win it, it's the only thing he has left to do.  So you can get stuff in the can for weeks build to a big match and have Big E go over big and make him the star we all see him as by beating John Cena.  Again this wishful thinking and would have been a way better idea then Apollo getting a SEVENTH opportunity when he doesn't deserve it at all.

2. The Fiend vs. Randy Orton

Some people don't work well together, some people just don't mesh, and the story just doesn't save the fact that they don't work well together.  Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton don't work well together.  It didn't work in 2017, and it doesn't work now.  They should have blown this off at Royal Rumble instead of keeping Bray off TV from December to freakin' March leading to this match.  Both guys could be doing something different by now.  Both guys could be having bigger and better matches.  I didn't need this feud to last from November to now.  I didn't need this lackluster story and payoff.  I'd much rather see Orton fighting someone at Mania he hasn't faced on a big stage.  The biggest problem with a lot of the build going into this Mania is it's clear WWE just doesn't care.  I'd have no problem with Orton even being involved in a multi-man match for the US or IC title.  Also to be fair, Bray could have taken Mania off or even started his next feud at Mania by getting involved with someone before or after a match.  I just don't need this match.

1. Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon

I hate Shane McMahon taking a spot on the card.  Especially when the story sucks and it literally doesn't matter.  None of this matters, and people will say "but don't you just want to see Shane get thrown off of something and get his ass kicked?", the answer to that questions is no, and I didn't need to think about it.  One-hundred percent no, I don't need Shane on Mania.  I don't care to see him thrown off of things, I don't care to see him thrown through things.  There's so many people on the roster who could have been built up for months that was taking time from Raw alone with all this stupid Shane stuff.  This match is completely unnecessary and my mind will not be changed on it.  The premise of this story is Braun is stupid, that's it nothing else and all the segments leading to the match have all sucked.  Shane does not need to wrestle and should stop taking spots on Mania.  Braun has been ruined for months and this has added to it.  I would literally prefer to see Braun against anyone else who actually is on the roster.  Anyone else even against Orton, that actually be a Mania match worth seeing with the right build which is asking a lot.

This is easily one of the worst built WrestleMania cards ever.  The matches are sure to be good on both nights but these five matches shouldn't be taking place and could have been handled a lot better instead of the lazy way they were.  I don't care if you think I'm complaining, if you think I should "stop watching", if you think that you don't understand why I care as much as I do.  Lazy booking doesn't tell good stories, bad stories don't get you excited for matches.  It's simple really, make me care about everything not one or two matches.  I'm not asking for too much, if you think I am your accepting the stupidity and I will never do that.
