WWE Survivor Series 2019 Predictions

Hey everyone, MikeJC here to talk all about this weekend's WWE Survivor Series event.  The build up to this show has been all over the place, good and a whole lot of bad.  I've been intrigued since day one because of the inclusion of NXT, but WWE has made it very hard to be excited.  Don't get this twisted, intrigue and excitement are absolutely not the same.  The thing is, they haven't given me a reason to care about this show because it's just the usually "who will win brand supremacy?" thing they do every year with no reason at all for these matches to happen and not really winning anything.  My idea that I came up with was have the winning brand get three draft picks from any of the other two brands, that's how you make this mean something, and if that happened Smackdown would 100 percent need to win because they got screwed again in the draft despite it being the A show now.  So lets run down the card, and talk about the build to all these matches on the card.  Strap in, it's gonna be a long one!

Champion vs. Champion vs. Champion
Tag Team Triple Threat Match
The Viking Raiders (RAW Tag Team Champions) vs. The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) (NXT Tag Team Champions) vs. The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) (Smackdown Tag Team Champions)

So, there hasn't been a lot of build to this match, because a lot of it has happened in the middle of the brawls between everyone from all three bands.  The Undisputed Era has been the center piece of everything going on with NXT invading both RAW and Smackdown.  The Viking Raiders have really been after thoughts in the entire build, and the Smackdown team shouldn't be the New Day.   Now I get it, New Day are the top names, that's fine I love them etc. but,  The Revival, a team that feels over looked, a team that as far as people know are on their way out next year, a team that would probably benefit from not only being in this match, but winning it more then the New Day at all, should be in there.  The second week of the build towards this show, saw the New Day win the titles for the 7th time from The Revival, and I feel like if you are really trying to keep these guys from leaving and actually feeling appreciated elsewhere, why take them out of this big of a match for New Day who are established, happy, and have nothing to worry about ever.  Regardless, out of everyone in this match, The Viking Raiders are the most in need of a win here, despite everyone in here being a champion of their respective brand, The Viking Raiders, haven't showed anything as far as being dominate towards the Pay-Per-View, so The Viking Raiders need to win here, and get ready for whatever they do next on RAW, though I can absolutely see New Day winning just cause.

Champion vs. Champion vs. Champion
Triple Threat Match
AJ Styles (United States Champion) vs. Roderick Strong (North American Champion) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (Intercontinental Champion)

This match, kind of came out of nowhere, for me, I didn't want this match, I wanted the secondary champions to be involved in other things, because I felt this wasn't needed, I thought about if a brand versus brand versus brand match could have been top guys from each brand, like Seth or AJ versus Roman versus Tommaso Ciampa, I think that would have been a better idea with much better build.  Regardless this match is happening and the only person that should win is Roderick Strong.  Strong is the only one out of these three that needs it.  As we all know WWE doesn't book things based who needs a win or anything like that, the fact of the matter is AJ is more over then anyone in this match, Shinsuke is doing fine in his role recently with Sami Zayn and all that, Strong despite he's been having great matches recently I don't think people have been taken seriously by people as a singles star, and needs to win here.

Champion vs. Champion vs. Champion
Triple Threat Match
Becky Lynch (RAW Women's Champion) vs. Shayna Baszler (NXT Women's Champion) vs. Bayley (Smackdown Women's Champion)

This match I'm actually very excited about, all three of these ladies are great at everything they do, and I have not minded one bit that Becky has kind of not been involved in too much of the build, the reason being, Becky is everywhere already and she isn't seriously needed to build to this.  Becky had her sit down promo with Shayna which was my favorite thing that happened during this build, and Shayna has been attacking everyone on both shows to the point where Bayley needed to prove she was worth talking about, to the point where Bayley was the only one making sneak attacks on NXT.  Becky on the other hand kind of just worried about the tag titles with Charlotte for most part, then she appears on NXT once and has a banger of a match with Rhea Ripley, that despite ending in DQ did it's job which was make Rhea look like a million bucks.  As far as this match goes, Bayley needs to win this, both Becky and Shayna have been nothing but dominate for over a year, Bayley has had to change her character completely to be taken seriously and I love that, I think this is what Bayley has needed to do just that but, winning here would make her seem like a serious threat and she needs to pin Becky, something Sasha couldn't do.

5-on-5-on-5 Women's Survivor Series
Triple Threat Elimination Match
Team RAW (Charlotte, Natalya, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Sarah Logan) vs. Team NXT (Rhea Ripley and 4 members TBA) vs. Team Smackdown (Sasha Banks, Nikki Cross, Carmella, Lacey Evans, and Dana Brooke)

I'm very unsure about how to call this match, because, we don't know whose on Team NXT, they could have you believe that the women that backed up Rhea this week on Smackdown are the team which would make sense and would be fine, that being, Tegan Knox, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, and Toni Storm.  That's a cohesive unit that could and should win this match, the other brands, all have problems getting a long.  Looking at this match though, Rhea Ripley is the future, she is the new top star in the making that would look dominate by winning here, no matter whose on her team.  Team RAW is going to have communication issues because of recent weeks with Asuka & Kairi feuding with Charlotte & Natalya, and Sarah Logan is kind of just there, when they could have put Zelina in there who has looked great recently.  I'm happy that Sarah is getting a shot at least.  Team Smackdown is kind of the same story, Sasha has kind of been feuding with Nikki Cross, and everyone else hasn't really been doing anything.  My question is why are Lacey and Dana in there, and not Mandy and Sonya?  Lacey hasn't been doing anything recently at all, now I'll be the first to say, Dana Brooke has needed a shot more then anyone, she's been overlooked for years and all she's done has improve, so I'm happy she's getting this shot, and I feel she's probably only getting it because Alexa Bliss is hurt.  I hope it works out for her.  Regardless of all that based on how it's gone, NXT needs to win this match for the soul purpose of making Rhea Ripley look good and she needs to be the one to beat Shayna for the title.

5-on-5-on-5 Men's Survivor Series
Triple Threat Elimination Match
Team RAW (Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, and Ricochet) vs. Team NXT (TBD) vs. Team Smackdown (Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Ali, Baron Corbin, Chad Gable)

This is the match, that I am most aggravated about, and I'll explain why.  The build has been absolutely horrible.  They've done nothing to make this match seem important to me except have random brawls at the end of every show, that's stupid.  While this is happening, Owens is facing Drew McIntyre in singles matches for no reason even though they are supposed to be teaming at the pay-per-view.  Randy Orton is playing mind games with Ricochet for no reason.  Roman and Baron Corbin are feuding with each other and not working as a team at all, and Corbin is trying to get rid of Ali and Gable (who I refuse to call Shorty G, I'm never going to do that) for Ziggler and Roode who aren't doing anything except following him everywhere, and Braun isn't doing anything at all.  None of this makes any sense.  None of this is making me excited for this match because it means nothing if everyone on teams that are supposed to be working together are just feuding with each other.  On top of that we have no idea who NXT has on their team.  So if I had to guess, team NXT will probably be Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, and maybe Finn Balor, or it can be whoever the mystery partner is at Takeover.  I want to care about this match, I want this match to be important to me and it just isn't.  Do I think it will be a good match, it's very possible, but as I said at the beginning, I don't know what they are fighting for except "Brand Supremacy" and that's stupid.

NXT Championship
(C) Adam Cole vs. NXT Takeover: War Games Triple Threat Winner

So I spoke the other day about who I think is going to win the triple threat at Takeover in order to get into this match, and that's Pete Dunne.  Dunne is the most ready for a match of this caliber.  Now could Killain Dain or Damian Priest win and be the ones to face Cole sure, and the match will be just as good either way, but on this stage it needs to be Dunne.  Pete Dunne has the most upside out of all these guys and he's gonna be a star for years to come.  It's gonna be a hell of a match, and I can't wait to see it, I got the least to say about this match because there's else to say except enjoy this match no matter who is in it, because no matter what it's gonna be a banger with Adam Cole retaining.

Universal Championship
(C) "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan

There's been barley any build to this match at all and I'm kind of okay with it.  We all thought Bryan was getting ready to feud with Shinsuke Nakamura and all of that lead us to this match.  Bray Wyatt attacked Bryan, and we went from there, and it seems like this story is being used to bring the yes movement back and that's the one thing I don't like about this, because the Daniel Bryan of the last year has been my favorite Daniel Bryan.  There's history here that they are acknowledging and I'm excited for the match, that Bray will definitely be winning, and I really hope they don't continue with the stupid mood lighting in the Fiend's matches, that needs to go.  I don't know if this feud continues or if this is one off, my guess it continues but I guess well see.

WWE Championship
(C) Brock Lesnar vs. Rey Mysterio

So I've hated this storyline, for the most part, the reason being is none of it was explained very well or made sense.  This feud technically started when Brock attacked Mysterio and his son Dominic, then Rey got Cain Velasquez "help" and he lost miserably to Lesnar at pointless Saudi Show 2 of the year, and after that match Rey attacked Brock with a chair.  Then even though Mysterio had been appearing on both shows regardless, they said he couldn't go to Smackdown for Brock to beat him up, so Brock "quit" Smackdown and got to bring the title with him which makes no sense at all, and the reasoning was "Brock can do whatever he wants", that's stupid.  Then Brock attacked Dominic again, and then Mysterio attacked Brock with a steel pipe.  All of this is just cause of the attack with the chair from Mysterio when Brock shouldn't care because he's still the champion.  Will this match be good? Sure, Brock has good matches with smaller people when he wants to, see Wrestlemania 32 for an example of when he didn't want to.  I just don't understand how this was put together by a person with a brain when it is all stupid.  Brock is obviously winning and this will all be a waste of time.

So that's gonna do it for me, like I said from the beginning this was going to be a long one because there was a lot of bad to talk about, but hey there's some good in there, hopefully this is a good show. and enjoy all the wrestling this weekend.
